Mannheim, 25 October 2021 | Röchling Medical SE, a division of the Mannheim-based Röchling Group and a leading manufacturer for the healthcare industry, has expanded its Executive Board as of 15 October 2021. Dr. Andreas Gabriel has taken over the newly created position as Chief Operating Officer.
Dr. Gabriel brings many years of extensive experience to the company, gained for example during his work for the US consumer goods manufacturer Procter & Gamble and the German chemical and pharmaceutical group Merck, where he was responsible for Operations & Supply Chain Management with a global scope.
The focus of his career to date has been on managing the technical operations of several sites worldwide, the strategic and operational enhancement of a Global Supply Network, and the establishment of an independent and standalone global Technical Operations Organization for the Consumer Health businesses of Merck and Procter & Gamble. Among other things, he had personnel responsibility for more than a thousand employees.
Dr. Gabriel graduated with a diploma in chemistry from the University of Technology Darmstadt. After obtaining his doctorate in materials science and working as a scientist, he went into business in 1998.
"We are pleased to have gained a proven expert with Dr. Andreas Gabriel for our company. With the expansion of our Executive Board, we are strengthening our division, which will allow us to focus even more strongly on the demands of our customers. As Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Gabriel will be responsible for all our plants in Germany, the USA and China. We are convinced that with his support we will continue on our ambitious growth path in the coming years," said Dr. Boris Fröhlich, CEO of Röchling Medical, who had previously assumed the duties of COO.
"Medical technology is an exciting industry of the future. Taking on the position of Chief Operating Officer at Röchling Medical exactly matches my field of interest and is thus the perfect next step for me in my professional career. I am certain that the still young division within the Röchling Group will become increasingly important for the whole company," says Dr. Gabriel.
