Cargo vans, transporters and service vehicles
Wall panels, interior panels and flooring for cargo vans

Optimise the load capacity of your Transporters, Sprinters and service vehicles

Interior cladding, cargo space cladding, flooring, door cladding and shelving systems made of Foamlite®

In the transport and service sector, it is very important for transport vehicles and service vans to have a high vehicle load capacity, in order to be able to utilise the limited storage space efficiently. The lower the weight, the lower the fuel consumption and environmental pollution for the same load capacity. We support the development of lightweight, modern Transporters, Sprinters, service vehicles and tool trolleys with sheets of our lightweight material Foamlite®.

Foamlite® - lightweight material

Foamlite® is a closed-pore foamed plastic that combines low weight with high mechanical stability. Foamlite® sheets:

  • Optimise the load capacity of your transport vehicle
  • Are robust and durable
  • Have a high-quality appearance

Application areas

Structures and components made of Foamlite®

Leading manufacturers of automotive interiors use Foamlite® sheets for the construction of very lightweight and robust components, structures and vehicle interior furnishing, such as:

  • Wall cladding
  • Door cladding
  • Interior cladding
  • Floor coverings
  • Cargo space cladding
  • Side panelling
  • Shelving systems
  • Underfloor modules
  • Interior partition walls

Vehicles:

  • Transporters
  • Service vehicles
  • Tool vans
  • Workshop vans
  • Delivery vans
  • Sprinters
  • Transporters
  • Small panel vans
  • Large-capacity transporters

Product range – Foamlite®

Foamlite® sheets are available for cladding transport vehicles in many different formats, thicknesses, colours:

  • Sheet thicknesses: 6 – 21 mm
  • Widths: up to 2000 mm
  • Lengths: According to customer needs, theoretically unlimited, no waste
  • Surface: Surface grained on both sides with high scratch resistance possible

Foamlite® – Properties

Lightweight

As a closed-pore foamed material, Foamlite® has a low density of just 0.65 g/cm³. Foamlite® is almost 30 percent lighter than comparable compact sheets. With its low weight, cladding made of Foamlite® makes a contribution towards weight reduction and optimising the load capacity of your Transporters, Sprinters and service vehicles.

Robust

Foamlite® has high mechanical stability and is scratch and shock resistant. Structures and components made of Foamlite® have a very long lifespan and a long-lasting high-quality appearance. Compared with conventional PP honeycomb sheets, Foamlite® stands out thanks to its high stability combined with very good impact properties.

Slip-resistant

Foamlite® is available as a slip-resistant option with a "cubic grain" surface – tested in accordance with DIN 51130-R10. The slip-resistant surface prevents loads slipping in Transporters, Sprinters and service vans. Fixed shelving systems for secure storage of small objects can also be made from slip-resistant Foamlite® shelves.

Easy to work with

Foamlite® sheets can be worked on using conventional tools for wood and metal. The material is also easy to screw and rivet. We have extensive experience in the reliable mounting of our boards using various fastening elements. Contact us. Foamlite® is also very easy to weld.

High resistance to UV radiation, weather and moisture

Foamlite® sheets are highly UV and weather-resistant and are also very resistant to moisture, which makes them suitable for long-term outdoor use

Low-maintenance – easy to clean

Foamlite® sheets can be cleaned quickly and easily with commercially available cleaning agents and are very low-maintenance. Foamlite's® closed-pore foam core does not allow any material to penetrate into the pores. Compared to conventional materials used in the market, Foamlite® offers many advantages when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. Commercially available coated plywood sheets and textured, coated board can quickly become scratched and absorb moisture and dirt. This in turn can lead to swelling and rotting. In commercially available honeycomb panels, dirt and moisture can remain in the honeycombs and form a culture medium for mould and bacteria.

“The new vehicle construction sheets made of Foamlite Cubic Grain is a real revolution in the commercial vehicle industry. With it, swollen and moldy loading floors made of plywood are a thing of the past." Very high abrasion resistance

The loading and unloading of transported goods and tools in transport vehicles and service vans over a long period can cause damage through impacts and friction, and with that premature wear and tear, leading to a shortened service life for lorry trailers. With their high mechanical stability and scratch and shock resistance, cladding and flooring made of Foamlite® have a very long service life and a long-lasting, high-quality appearance. Tests in our in-house materials laboratory show that in comparison with tested conventional plywood (textured coated board), Foamlite® sheets have significantly higher abrasion resistance.

Test parameters: Pressure: 150 N (0.66 MPa), Abrasion area: 15 x 15 mm, Sliding partner: stainless steel, Sliding direction: oscillating, duration: 90 minutes.

Built-in hinge

Foamlite® has a "built-in" hinge. All that is required is a 90 degree milled V-groove. This means it is very easy to make doors with V-grooves, for example. This saves time in the manufacturing process and eliminates additional material costs for hinges, screws and rivets.
