Bronze original and highly detailed plastic counterparts: Röchling has made the blue figures in 3D printing in a short run; they were presented to all members of the winning team

Sporthilfe Emsland named its Emsland Athletes of the Year and awarded them the “Sports Oscar” (a small bronze sculpture) at the sports gala “Emotion 2015” in Papenburg, Germany. Along with the Athlete
of the Year and Newcomer Athlete of the Year awards, a Team of the Year was recognized for the first time in 2015. Sporthilfe wanted to present each team member with a “Sports Oscar,” so they contacted Röchling in Haren, Germany, to ask if smaller, highly detailed replicas of the “Sports Oscar” could be made with plastic.

Röchling was happy to help and manufactured the figures using 3D printing at its Competence Centre for 3D Printing in Lützen, Germany.. The replicas made from polyamide 12 look exactly like their bronze counterparts and were presented to the winners by Werder Bremenʼs Supervisory Board Chairman, Marco Bode.
