In order to increase the protection of consumers, plant operators in the food industry are making greater use of blue plastic components. They provide the highest level of optical contrast to natural foods. This offers an additional safety benefit during quality control. As a consequence, blue-coloured components are not only used in direct contact with food, they are also used as peripheral components. This requires a large range of dimensions for the blue materials used.
