On June 20, 2012, the new Röchling Automotive plant in Chengdu was officially opened. The 13,000 square-meter plant will manufacture controlled shutter systems, intake manifolds, and other injection-molded parts. Added to these are compressionmolded parts for underbodies and engine compartments. Gerhard Neidinger, Director of the Asia region, welcomed numerous representatives from government and the automobile industry to the opening celebration for the third Chinese site.
