The Röchling-Group has substantially expanded their leading market position in the CNC machining of high-performance plastics by acquiring Fibracon Twin Ltd, Derbyshire, and Insoll Components Ltd, Hertfordshire. The acquisition increases Röchling UK to three machining companies providing complimentary plastics processing know-how, technologies and market access.

Fibracon Twin Ltd. located in High Peak, Derbyshire, is a specialist manufacturer of PTFE components, compression moulded PTFE stock shapes and CNC machined components made from high-performance plastics such as PEEK. Production is in accordance with customers’ drawings on modern CNC turning and milling machines.

Fibracon services a wide ranging customer base encompassing the chemical processing industry, the oil & gas sector, medical device manufacture, general and aerospace engineering. 70 employees are based at their two facilities in north Derbyshire.

Insoll Components Ltd, located in Hertfordshire, has 25 employees specialising in machining small components. High-performance plastics include PTFE, PEEK and POM. These high precision components are utilized in medical, aerospace and electronics applications.

Both companies will work closely together with Röchling Engineering Plastics (UK) Ltd. which has been established in Gloucester since 1985. The management of Fibracon and Insoll will be taken over by Rüdiger Keinberger, Director of the Röchling Business Unit Machined Components, and Mike Knowles, Managing Director of Röchling Engineering Plastics (UK) Ltd, Gloucester. The previous owners will continue to support the business in an advisory function.

Röchling network is strengthened

With sales of over 8 Mio Euros the acquisition of the two companies is a very important part of the strategy of Röchling. Ludger Bartels, COO of the Röchling Group, Mannheim, says: „Fibracon and Insoll will benefit from the close cooperation within the network of 60 locations and more than 8,000 employees which form a large network of plastic processing companies worldwide.”

The acquisition will strengthen Röchling’s position in the strategic key markets of aerospace, medical engineering, oil & gas and at the same time extends their portfolio of semi-finished and machined plastics products by the addition of PTFE to their portfolio.
