Worms, 20 July 2017… Röchling Automotive today opened the extension of its F1 production hall at the Worms location. The automotive supplier has thus increased its production area by 3,100 square meters. The hall’s entire production and storage area has been increased more than twofold: from 2,700 m2 to 5,800 m2.
The F1 extension commenced operations on schedule in June 2017 following a 12-month construction period. It has since produced its first parts without a hitch, with additional product start-ups already in the pipeline for 2018. Röchling Automotive’s new F1 facility manufactures products such as SCR tanks, underfloor panels, wheel arches and air control systems for well-known automobile manufacturers. It is the first extension of the F1 hall since the facility was built in 2002. The total production area in Worms was already increased back in 2011 with the construction of hall C10.
Following on from the successful commissioning of the Technical Center in May 2017, the F1 hall extension represents another milestone for the Worms location. “Having received a high volume of orders from one of our major customers, we wouldn’t have been able to supply the orders by the deadline if it weren’t for this extension,” explained Robert Eimer, Managing Director of Röchling Automotive Germany.
Röchling invested nearly €8.7 million in extending the production hall. The Worms location employs a workforce of around 650 employees.
