A splashing waterfall, tropical plants along the path and exotic animals in the thicket – visitors to this year’s K plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf were treated to an extraordinary sight. Röchling presented its sustainable product families and innovative new products on 330 square metres in the middle of a jungle. The spectacular stand attracted the attention of visitors and generated a great deal of interest and enthusiasm.
Sustainability as an important strategic area
"The motto of our stand at the K this year is 'Acting responsibly'. As a family-owned company, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and society and have identified sustainability as one of the most important strategic areas," explained Franz Lübbers, CEO Röchling Industrial. "At the K, we present our sustainability activities and invite our customers to talk to us. Together, we want to lead the way towards a sustainable future and help our customers achieve their sustainability goals."
Focus on sustainability and digitisation
The international plastics processor also presented its new sustainable product families. With Röchling-BioBoom® and Röchling-ReLoop ®, the company is further expanding its portfolio of high-quality bio-based plastics and recycled materials. Visitors also learned how fossil-based plastics contribute to increasing sustainability in the application. "Many of our products improve the efficiency of the systems thanks to their properties," says Lübbers. "This saves energy and contributes to the conservation of resources, for example."
Another focus was on the presentation of innovative products and services in the area of digitalisation. The smart innovations enable customers to reliably identify their products in the event of complaints, to reduce production system downtimes and optimise processes.
Exceptional and authentic
K, the largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, took place in Düsseldorf from October 19 to 26. More than 3,000 companies from 60 countries present new products, systems and machines to the 176,000 trade visitors from all over the world. The K takes place every three years. Röchling always surprises its customers and visitors with a spectacularly different trade fair stand. "This year was all about sustainability. That’s why we developed a stand concept that perfectly reflects this important topic," says Lübbers. Visitors found themselves in the middle of a jungle with real plants, authentic animals and special background noise. Exciting eye-catchers were a vintage car, a life-size gorilla, chimpanzees and an orangutan in the trees.
The unusual concept was also well received by visitors and customers. Large crowds on all trade fair days, a lot of praise and enthusiasm for such an extraordinary stand and countless photos testified to the success of this unusual trade fair appearance.
