Inclusion into international group offers good prospects
Haren, 19th June 2017 – Röchling Engineering Plastics SE & Co. KG, Haren, intends – subject to approval by the German Cartel Office – to acquire the plastics processing company Fischer GmbH Kunststoff Präzision, Laupheim, Baden-Württemberg. Fischer GmbH Kunststoff Präzision is a leader in the machining of precision plastic parts and components made from technical plastics as well as high-performance plastics for customers in a number of industrial sectors. More than 150 employees are currently employed at two sites, Laupheim, located to the south of Ulm, and Arnstadt near Erfurt, which have modern CNC machines and other machining centres for the machining of plastics.
With the acquisition, Röchling plans to further expand its machining activities. The machining group in Röchling’s Industrial Division is one of the world's leaders in the machining of thermoplastics and composites, with 18 closely networked and globally positioned sites. The companies specialise in the production of high-quality finished parts and components for almost every sector of the capital goods industry. Röchling can offer milling parts with a length of up to 14,000 mm, a diameter of 4,000 mm and weight of up to 5 tons, or large turning parts with a diameter of 2,000 mm. However, the range also features micro-machining of small components with a diameter of only 0.5 mm.
Röchling CEO, Franz Lübbers, who is responsible for Röchling Group’s Industrial Division, emphasises the opportunities offered by the planned takeover of Fischer: “The inclusion into the Röchling Group gives Fischer GmbH the unique opportunity to tap into new sales markets by cooperating with our worldwide machining group’s other locations, to benefit from our application and material expertise and thus to offer its customers additional machining possibilities. With the acquisition, Röchling qualitatively strengthens its market position in the target industries served by Fischer, as well as regionally – in southern Germany in particular.”
Fischer GmbH belongs to ERIKS Holding Deutschland GmbH, Bielefeld, which in turn belongs to the Dutch company ERIKS NV, Utrecht. ERIKS would like to sell Fischer GmbH in order to focus on trading in industrial components, which is its core competency. After reviewing the strategic orientation for ERIKS Germany, ERIKS believes that the production of plastic lathe and milling parts by Fischer GmbH within the Röchling Group can create greater added value and provide employees with safer future prospects.
