Manual work is enjoying a boom. Repair, service and maintenance work is in demand like never before. The mail-order business is also booming. For journeys to be planned economically, transport and service vehicles require a high loading capacity. The lower the weight of the empty vehicle, the greater the loading capacity. At the same time, vehicles with individual fittings must be adapted to the respective service. Alongside a spacious loading area for example, secure storage space is needed for work materials, equipment and tools. Fitted elements made from the lightweight construction material Foamlite® ensure that weight is spared and contribute to cleanliness and tidiness.
A constant trend in the mobility sector is lightweight construction. The following applies across all mobility areas: the lower the weight, the lesser the consumption and environmental pollution for the same high load capacity. High load capacity is a particularly relevant for the transport and service industries, as is the most efficient possible use of limited storage space. If vehicles do not offer industry appropriate amenities as standard, these can be retrofitted. For structures and components such as wall and door claddings, floor coverings or shelving systems, vehicle outfitters are increasingly relying on Röchling's Foamlite® material. The lightweight sheets made from polypropylene impress with their closed-pore foamed core, lightweight build, ease of maintenance and durability. They do not absorb water and can't rot.
Master the challenges of everyday transport
The constant loading and unloading of transport goods over a long period can cause damage through impacts and friction and with that premature wear and tear, leading to a shortened service life for interior fittings. Wall and floor claddings made with Foamlite® are scratch and impact resistant and thus protect the body panel from damage. A slip-resistant version – tested to DIN 51130 standard – Foamlite® also provides additional security against loads slipping. Fixed installation shelving systems for securely storing small items can also be completely manufactured from Foamlite®.
Advantages over conventional materials
The material has a high-quality visual appeal and is quickly and easily cleaned, if necessary with industry standard high-pressure cleaners. Conventional materials such as wood laminates with varnish or finishes can quickly become scratched. Dirt and moisture can penetrate, leading to swelling and eventually rotting. When using honeycomb panels, particular care must be taken during cleaning so that dirt and moisture are not left behind in the honeycombs to form a breeding ground for organisms such as moulds and bacteria. The closed-pore foam core of Foamlite® does not allow any material to penetrate the pores and as such fulfils special requirements for hygiene and cleanliness.
Easy to work with
Fitted elements made from Foamlite® can be screwed or riveted together using conventional tools for working wood or metal. We have extensive experience in reliable mounting using various fastening elements. Talk to us. In addition, the material can also be welded, so that when the need for a closed tank arises, penetration by fluids or other material in the interior of the vehicle is prevented.
