Matrox system against wear and corrosion

Wear and corrosion are finished: With Matrox lining sheets for a renovated solids dosing feeder that has been in operation for two years

Protective shield: Matrox lining protects the charging silo against acids and mechanical wear

Lining in charging silos

Biogas already makes the largest contribution to the production of electricity from bio-energy in Germany. A high degree of efficiency and economy is essential for the operation of biogas systems. The service life of the steel or concrete charging silos is frequently a critical factor.

Fermentation processes already take place during storage of the biomass in the silos, which prevent degradation and hence premature energy loss. Aggressive acids arise during these fermentation processes, which attack the construction material of the silo. The frequently used maize silage particularly shows an aggressive combination of lactic acid generated during the fermentation process and the abrasiveness of the silage. Wear and corrosion damage to the silo walls as well as a reduced service life are the result. Röchling Engineering Plastics has developed a lining system especially for biogas systems. The Matrox wear protection sheet prevents the direct contact between the aggressive biomass and the silo wall. Matrox combines a high degree of chemical resistance, outstanding wear resistance properties and excellent sliding characteristics, which encourage material flow, in one material.

With the Matrox lining system, consisting of sheets and fastening elements, the charging silos of biogas systems can be quickly and easily lined.

Matrox offers maximum benefit for new projects, existing system or systems needing renovation, with minimum effort.
