Röchling opens new logistics building

Expansion increases delivery capacity and creates new jobs

South Euclid, OH – Röchling Industrial has expanded its composites site in Cleveland, OH / USA. With the new logistics building, the company is strengthening its leading market position in North America and improving delivery capabilities for its customers. The investment of $ 4.9 million will also create new jobs in the region.

The site of the Röchling Industrial division in Cleveland (Röchling Glastic Composites) is the competence center for composite materials in North America. With the project, the company is securing the further growth of the location.

Franz Lübbers, CEO Röchling Industrial, emphasizes: “With the new capacities we are improving the availability of goods for composites and the service for our customers in America. The volume of business in Cleveland has grown steadily over the past few years. With the new opportunities, our strong team in Cleveland now has the prerequisites for the planned further growth."

Röchling Industrial in Cleveland was founded in 1946. The company, which has been part of the Röchling Group since 2007, is now a global leader in the manufacture of composites. Its main business is the manufacture of sheets and profiles. The products are primarily used in the electrical industry, light rail transit, oil & gas industry, plastics and rubber processing and in liquified gas transport and storage due to their insulation characteristics both electrical and thermal.

Fred Sanford, Managing Director of Röchling Industrial in Cleveland, explains: “With this and previous investments in technologies and capacities, we have intensified business relationships with our customers and established the foundation for sustainable and long-term growth. The location in Cleveland is the composites hub for the entire NAFTA area."

The expansion was implemented after a planning phase of almost two years in close cooperation with the city of South Euclid, Cuyahoga County and the US state of Ohio.

Georgine Welo, Mayor of South Euclid, explains: “We are delighted that Röchling is investing in the location and that we have been able to implement the expansion together. Röchling Industrial in Cleveland is the cornerstone of South Euclid's industry. We expect that the project and the new jobs will contribute to the further development of our city and the industrial area."

Sunny M. Simon, Cuyahoga County Councilwoman, adds: “Röchling Industrial in Cleveland has been part of the city for almost 75 years. The company is an important factor for the region. I am pleased that this project has been successfully completed and that new jobs have already been created."

As the world's leading processor of plastics, the Röchling Group took over what was then Glastic Corp in 2007. Since then, Röchling has regularly invested in the modern systems and machines at the Cleveland location. The investment in the new logistics building is the company's fourth expansion since the original factory was built in 1951.
